The sudden change of uniform at AUF

it has been two years already since the school decided to change the style of our uniform. it was a shock to all of the students because it was unexpected by all. especially to the fourth year students who were going to graduate but still had no choice but to change their uniform their reason was it was a waste of money.

on the other had i had interviewed a lot of students studying in auf before the change of uniform and they said that one of the reasons why they enrolled in AUF was because of the cute uniform they had. it was a shock to almost every student because imagine wearing long sleeves in this kind of weather here in the philippines and the style of the skirt can be blown by the wind anytime when a truck or fast car passes by.

the school changed the uniform because they had learned that a lot of students are being harrased because some students have really short skirts. yes, it was cute and very convenient but a lot of students had been taken advantaged of guys even in their own classrooms. imagine pictures of AUF girls students under wear had been kept in a guys cellphone without even knowing. this i know beacause i was there and i saw it happen.

maybe yes, the sudden change of uniform at auf is a shock to us all but on the other hand the school was just trying to protect the dignity of the students of AUF. now students had been comfortable in the new style of uniform and i hope that they realize that the purpose of the school for changing it was not to make us look like "manangs" but to protect us and make us look respectable.

I agree, both on the positive and the negative area, but I believe there could have been a solution for the negative area of the said change. Yes, what we are wearing now may not be appropriate for our weather as many people say, but if you ask me, with the former uniform, we had no choice but to make the skirt a little tighter or else we would look so "baduy" which would make it uncomfortable, unlike now, the skirts are very comfortable and as what you said, harassments has been solved. the negative area i guess is that the change wasn’t announced ahead of time, they should have warned the students not to get new pairs of uniform made (which, unfortunately people i know have experienced). i do hope that before the university effects change, the students are well informed to lessen both hassle and waste.

Actually, I was one of those students who were shocked by the sudden changing of uniform. But I never took it against the school because I've known that the primary purpose of this is to keep the students from harm or any form of harassment. Since then, the number of harassment cases decreased but there are still some stubborn students who wear short skirts. Some say they look like high school students. And what's wrong with that? Before, they were complaining because of the tremendous harassments that were happening during those times; and now, they are still complaining. hooh! Well, because the university has done its part, it's not anymore its responsibility to control over what might happen but the students'. Other schools like Systems Plus College Foundation were even inspired to change their style of uniform because they find it more refined than the usual and typical uniform.

I was one of those who had a violent reaction on the changing of the uniforms, for a valid reason that I just had a new pair of the old uniform, and it was really a waste of money. I Guess students won’t act violently if they were informed properly and the reason for the changing was explain. Students felt like dolls. No feelings to be considered and just merely act as stuff to be experimented and look what clothes they fit in.

i was shocked too when i heard about that. honestly, I chose AUF because of it,s cute and sophisticated uniform. when i saw the new style of our uniform,, i was dissapointed because the blouse has a long sleeves and the first thing came into my mind was the climate we have here in the philippines. the long skirt was too long, i think 3 inches below the knee.. I was expecting that the uniform will make me feel uncomfortable, and they chenged that when I was in 2nd year,, the old uniform that I bought when i was first year turned out into nothing. My parents were mad too because i just had my newly made unifrom and then suddenly, the school changed it..
as time passed by,, i get used to our new uniform.. i'm comfortable with now and i think, the new uniform was much better than before. the school was just protecting the students and i understand that because most of the students abused the old uniform..

for me first of course i was shocked. but in the long run i realize that it is for the benefit of the students. Unlike before students are being "bastos by the drivers". i would say that the new uniform is very comfortable to wear.....

hi fridiane, before anything else, i would like to commend you of having sensible and meaty articles in your blog. anyway, the uniform serves as the identity of students in a particular university. this uniform is her identity when students spend time outside. therefore, it is a must for university officials and administrators to think of the best uniform because this will be exhibited outside. this i think is the very reason why aud did have a sudden change on it.but you know, no matter how beautiful the uniform may be, still the values and principles of the students in a particular university speak much and better than any other solorful display.

Yes I was one of those shocked students, who was almost about to go to the dressmaker to have my uniform done. Luckily I got the information just before I was about to have a new one. Well, the school has its reasons for changing the uniform, and if it’s for our own good, then be it. I mean I also find the old uniform cute and somehow fashionable, but if that would cause so much disrespect for AUF students, then I’d rather have the new one, quite not comfortable, but still bearable anyway.
